Briefings for Physicians

Results of a public opinion conducted by PABC survey told us that most British Columbians go to their family physician with physiotherapy-treatable conditions. We therefore took action and communicated through a series of newsletters to family physicians the value of physiotherapy (connecting PT to GP).

We developed Briefings to:

  • Give busy family physicians the opportunity to find out about research in physiotherapy without doing all the searching.
  • Facilitate appropriate referrals by highlighting areas of practice that physicians may be unaware of.
  • Position physiotherapy as effective evidence-based rehabilitation.

Please contact PABC for past editions of Briefings.

Back Strain Model of Care

PABC’s 9 member expert Task Force created the Back Strain Model of Care. They reviewed 382 articles which met the inclusion criteria of a thorough literature search conducted by the physiotherapy outreach librarian. The 8 research topic areas below were chosen based on this exhaustive search which resulted in the task force recommended Model of Care for best practice treatment of low back pain.
