Using gait analysis in the clinic allows us to assess our clients’ movement patterns in a manner that integrates all systems.  In this lecture we will look at what information we can gain for assessment purposes as well as how to use our findings as tools to determine the effect of our treatment.  Pictures and videos of clinical case studies will be presented to illustrate the basis for clinical reasoning.

Deb Treloar is a partner in Treloar Physiotherapy Clinic (1982).  She completed her Canadian Manipulations Exam in 1983, taught the Canadian Manual Therapy level courses for many years, developed and teaches a Foot and Ankle course throughout Canada, teaches at the UBC School of Physiotherapy, and continues to work clinically at the Broadway Clinic of TPC.  Associated with her special interest in the foot and ankle, she has been interested in gait and how to use it as a meaningful clinical tool.  With the recent knowledge she has gained by taking Bobath courses and entering into the neuro world she has gained more clarity on the importance of assessing the body as a whole to see the influence of body parts on the system.
